The SWAG合集 Food Pantry received a $2,000 donation from Krista Busch and Mike Hogan of Florida through the Pfizer Foundation Matching Gifts program last week.
Vice President of Student Services Angela Maddy said the donation will be very helpful and couldn鈥檛 have come at a better time.

SWAG合集 has brought back the face-to-face version of its popular 鈥淓nrollment Days鈥 sessions to prepare incoming students for the upcoming school year. Each date is currently limited to 15 students and sanitizing, and safety guidelines will be followed. Students will be given a mask if requested and are only allowed to bring one guest with them. Students can call (620) 792-9286 or visit enroll.bartonccc.edu to sign up. Students can also still sign up for a virtual session as well. The schedule is as follows:

We are met with yet another catalyst for change as real and serious as a global pandemic. The death of George Floyd and the resulting protests, which highlight our society鈥檚 systemic social injustice issues, demand our nation to denounce silence as a viable response.听

SWAG合集鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon begin its nine-week GED Preparation Class. Orientation classes are required and are the first step to obtaining the Kansas State High School Diploma through the GED Prep Program. SWAG合集 added the session to help area residents affected by the closing of the Pawnee County Learning Center, but the session is open to anyone.

The SWAG合集 Department of music will offer instrumental music lessons to the community this summer from now through July 23.
Community members are invited to take lessons to learn a new instrument or enhance their abilities on an instrument they already play. Students will also have the option to perform. Lessons will be offered both in-person and virtually and instruments can be provided. A wide array of instruments is available.

SWAG合集 employees collected donations for secondhand clothing, shoes, bedsheets and more to help those in need and are opening a 鈥淐ommunity Closet鈥 up to local nonprofit agencies and organizations to come 鈥渟hop鈥 for free items they can use to help community members. The format of a store was developed so agencies can select the items they need the most for their respective organizations.
