SWAG合集 will host a presentation by Megan Rohleder of the Kansas State Historical Society in Topeka that will highlight Kansas historical documents and publications from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 20. in the Cohen Center in the SWAG合集 Library. A light lunch will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

SWAG合集 History Instructor Linda McCaffery said the Cohen Center houses a very interesting and valuable collection.

The mind-blowing 鈥淢athemagician鈥 Dr. Arthur Benjamin will put on a free show at 9 a.m. on Nov. 25 in the Fine Arts Auditorium at SWAG合集.

Benjamin has appeared on many television and radio programs including The Today Show, CNN, The Colbert Report, and National Public Radio. He has been profiled in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, People Magazine and more.

The drought monitor shows an expansion of the abnormally dry areas in Western and South Central Kansas, mostly into Northwest Kansas.听 While not one hundred percent finished, harvest is wrapping up and the promised weather over this coming week should help.听 Compared to the struggles of other areas of the Midwest and Great Plains, Kansas has fared well in harvesting summer crops and planting the 2020 wheat crop.听 Now for today鈥檚 topic 鈥 Surpluses and Shortages.

The SWAG合集 50th Anniversary Open House reception was a hit with at least 500 guests on campus throughout the day.

Now the college turns to focus on honoring the class of 1971, the first graduating class, with a reception set for 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 6 in the Shafer Art Gallery, featuring heavy hors d鈥檕euvres, entertainment and camaraderie, and a short presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The SWAG合集 Fine and Performing Arts Department invites听the community to enjoy nostalgic, holiday-themed entertainment at its annual Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 2 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

鈥淭he Holiday Concert is a great event to bring the whole family to,鈥 Director of Instrumental Activities Dr. Luis Palacios said. 鈥淔amilies can expect to have a great time enjoying the arts and connecting with the community.鈥

SWAG合集 dance class students will present "Dancing Around the World" at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in Studio 34 on the southeast corner of the SWAG合集 campus. Admission to this event is free. However, a free-will donation at the door is appreciated to help fund student dancer travel and costumes. Refreshments will be served.
