Caterina Lingenfelter is a single mom who works as a human resources assistant and is a sergeant with the National Guard. She鈥檚 also earning her associate degree in general studies from BARTonline.

鈥淪WAG合集 has been really great to be able to manage the workload of being able to go to school full-time,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檓 a single working mom and I don鈥檛 have time, but sometimes you have to prioritize.鈥

For the first time, SWAG合集 will host an art exhibit that showcases talent from every segment of the campus 鈥 students, faculty and staff. The exhibit鈥檚 name is BaRTaRT.

Andy Brown, guest juror, will speak at the Opening Night Awards Reception at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at the Shafer Gallery in the Fine Arts Building. Awards will be presented to students only; the exhibit runs through Feb. 16 and the community is invited to attend at no charge.

The Central Kansas Community听Choir (CKCC), which is open to all choral singers high school age and older,听will be rehearsing from 7-9 p.m. on Monday evenings beginning Jan. 14 at the Morrison Chapel at SWAG合集 in Great Bend in preparation for an April 1 concert.听 Accessible parking is available.

The nursing program at SWAG合集 is accepting student applications for the 2019-20 academic year.听 The priority deadline is Jan. 31, 2019. 听The secondary deadline is March 1, 2019.听 Those wishing to apply to the SWAG合集 Nursing Program should first visit apply.bartonccc.edu,听then听stop by听the Nursing Office in the Technical Building to receive an application packet for the program.

2019 will be here in less under two days.听 We end 2018 with more soil moisture than in many years.听 In fact, it is safe to say most of Kansas is wet with barely a trace of dry conditions.听 This past year was certainly a rollercoaster in many ways.听 So what will be the major stories in the new year for agriculture in Kansas and across the nation?听 As always, there are many potential important events and these are in no particular order.

First, the weather outlook from December 19th to the 23rd.听 There is a very strong chance for above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation.听 The outlook from the 21st to the 27th is calling for above normal temperatures and for precipitation to be slightly above normal to normal which means not much.听 So if you want a want Christmas you are probably out of luck.听 However, if you are travelling in the region, you are probably in luck.听 Time will tell.

SWAG合集 will offer transitioning Fort Sill, Okla. Soldiers, and family members with DOD ID cards, a grant-funded two-week certificate program at no cost to participants.

The Hazardous Waste Worker (HWW) program gives Soldiers credentials to help them find work after their tenure in the US Army ends. The next course is set from Jan. 28 through Feb. 8 at the Truman Education Center B3281.

Local thespians are invited to audition for the SWAG合集 Theatre Department鈥檚 production of Neil Simon鈥檚 鈥淩umors鈥. Open auditions are set for 4-6 p.m. January 7 and 8 in the Fine Arts Auditorium on campus. No proparation is necessary. 听

Performances will be held March 1-3, 2019.
