The SWAGºÏ¼¯ Foundation Sporting Clay Shoot has become a staple in the event schedule of avid sportsmen across Kansas and beyond, drawing shooters from Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas. The 10th annual shoot is set for Sunday, April 14 at Camp Aldrich.

SWAGºÏ¼¯ recently honored employees who celebrated landmark years in five year increments. Expert pianist Dr. Irena Ravitskaya will help SWAGºÏ¼¯ celebrate the return of its newly renovated Steinway grand piano with a recital at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel. The piano renovation project was made possible by a grant from the Dorothy Morrison Foundation.

Dr. Ravitskaya, who holds a doctorate in piano performance, will perform works of Beethoven, Schumann, Medtner and Prokofiev. Ravitskaya is currently a faculty member at Fort Hays State University.

The SWAGºÏ¼¯ Theatre Department is calling for original plays from the community for its Original Playwright Series. Playwrights will have until Feb. 14 to submit their script. Three of the submitted shows will be chosen for the series.

Plays must be:

  • 20-30 minutes in length
  • contained on one set with two to five characters
  • free of profanity
  • original and never produced

Community members, including those at Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth, are encouraged to submit their work.
