The SWAG合集 Foundation presents scholarships each year from funds received through its fundraising events, endowments and annual scholarship gifts. For the 2018-19 academic year, the Foundation has selected the following students (listed by hometown) for scholarship offers:

Anyone interested in surprising loved ones, coworkers or friends with some holiday cheer, or adding some festive flair to their event, can hire a quartet to perform traditional religious or secular holiday music selections.

SWAG合集 vocal music students have formed a handful of quartets for hire to offer caroling services any time between December 2-21. Performances will be 15 minutes long and can be purchased for a听 donation of $100 or more. The music can be as background or foreground.

Ryan Zink knows serendipity is a force not to be ignored. He began pursuit of an education to become a teacher at SWAG合集 after he graduated from high school in 1998, but his plans were disrupted by a deep realization that his passion was elsewhere.

Zink was granted a books and tuition scholarship to serve as a student worker in the Athletic Training office, tending to athletes鈥 injuries and keeping them in good condition to perform at their best in competition.

We received more snow than forecast and while it certainly put a halt to the remaining harvest and wheat planting, there are some benefits.听 The biggest benefit is a nice insulating blanket to protect the wheat and help keep heat in the soil.听 A benefit and a problem is more soil moisture.听 Compared to the last several years, the wheat crop is in excellent shape regarding soil moisture for the winter.听 Now onto today鈥檚 topic.

The SWAG合集 Nursing Club assembled and donated more than four dozen care packages and treat bags to Central Care Cancer Center. The bags and packages were stuffed with donations from faculty and staff at SWAG合集, and included fuzzy socks, facial tissue, lip balm, word searches and crossword puzzles.

The activity was part of SWAG合集鈥檚 Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities in October.

The SWAG合集 Instrumental Music Department will present their annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. November 15 in the Fine Arts Auditorium at SWAG合集. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

This year鈥檚 concert will feature the Prairie Winds Concert Band, the Prairie Winds Jazz Band, Woodwind Ensemble and Flute Choir. A wide variety of music will be presented from marches, overtures, holiday music and jazz.

Tickets and sponsorships are now available for the SWAG合集 Jingle Bell Swing Big-Band Holiday Dance, where guests can enjoy dancing and music by a live 鈥渂ig band鈥 starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Great Bend American Legion, 1011 Kansas Ave.

Small business owners, human resources managers and anyone in need of help writing job descriptions or policies can benefit from the expertise of Human Resources Consultant Erika Brining, owner of The HR Pro, who is hosting a half-day workshop.

The hands-on learning opportunity is set for 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Plaza de Cavanaugh room (L-116) in the Learning Resource Center at SWAG合集.

Thursday is the deadline to register.
