SWAG合集鈥檚 Shafer Art Gallery will host an opening reception for its 鈥淩epurposed鈥 exhibit from 6-8 p.m. February 26 in the Shafer Gallery. The exhibit will feature the sophisticated cardboard constructions of Jessie Montes and 鈥淗eidegger鈥檚 Ghost,鈥 a visual essay concerning the themes of ontology, New York City and personal vision by Scot Thein.

Six students from SWAG合集 in the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society were recognized Thursday for being selected as members of the PTK All-Kansas Academic Team during an award luncheon at the Ramada Inn in Topeka. Prior to the luncheon, inductees toured the state capital building with SWAG合集 administrators and visited with state legislators.

Sen. Bob Dole donated $20,000 to Camp Hope, a weeklong getaway for children with cancer held at Camp Aldrich. The funds are to be used for the benefit of Camp Hope. The Camp Aldrich Dining and Events Center burned down in April of 2014, which was Camp Hope鈥檚 preferred venue.

The SWAG合集 Performing Arts Department will host 鈥淪cholarship Day鈥 auditions on Thursday, Feb. 11.听 Current or prospective students may contact the Music Department to set up a time to audition for music or theatre scholarships or performance awards.听 Awards are available for performing arts majors and non-performing arts majors alike.
