The SWAG合集 Foundation will host its Seventh Annual Clay Shoot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4 at Camp Aldrich, 884 NE 110 Ave. in Claflin.听 It is sponsored by Mossberg Sanitation Inc., Innovative Livestock Services, Murphy Family Enterprises, Hammeke Electric, Inc., Great Plains Inspection and Smith Supply, LLC.

SWAG合集 will officially show off its newly remodeled Fine Arts Auditorium and foyer area by hosting an open house event from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 27.

The event will feature live performances from SWAG合集 students and comments from SWAG合集 administrators.听 There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development.听 Attendees will have the opportunity to tour all areas of the remodeled facility including the stage and backstage areas.

The SWAG合集 Foundation kicked off its Annual Academic Enrichment Fund Campaign titled 鈥淪lide Rules to Smartphones鈥 on March 1.听 Longtime supporter and former employee of the college Paul Maneth will serve as the chairman for the month-long fundraising drive.

SWAG合集 and Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina have started a partnership by听signing a transfer agreement Tuesday on the SWAG合集 County campus. 听

The agreement is designed to make transferring to KWU seamless for SWAG合集 students.听 The agreement guarantees students who graduate from SWAG合集 with an associate of arts or science degree and a 2.0 GPA or higher admission to KWU as a junior.

Life for Debbie Tomlinson was not easy growing up.听 Her mother died of lung cancer when she was young and she moved to Kansas from California with her abusive, alcoholic father.听 She was beaten often and at the age of 15 she was kicked out of her house.听 She bounced around from home to home and eventually wound up married and pregnant at the age of 17.听 The lack of her home life stability coupled with her pregnancy caused her to drop out of high school, a decision she immediately regretted.
