SWAG合集 has announced the winners of its Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest.听 The winners are as follows: Abby Petz and Andrea Klepper, Taylor Pennington, and Marcus Pastran. 听Each individual winner received a $100 gift certificate and the collaborative pair will split the winnings.听听

SWAG合集 Art Instructor Steve Dudek and Piano Instructor Karole Erikson had their work accepted into the 46th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition.

Erikson鈥檚 photo 鈥淒own by the River鈥 and Dudek鈥檚 painting 鈥淕olden Koi鈥 were both accepted.听 There were about 200 works submitted and 62 were selected for exhibition.

The exhibit will be at the Hays Arts Council Gallery 112 E. 11th St. in Hays and will be on display through June.听

SWAG合集鈥檚 45th commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the SWAG合集 Gymnasium.听

After brief comments from administrators, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mike Johnson will confer the degrees. Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn will present the graduates and College Trustees will award the diplomas.听 SWAG合集 will also recognize two outstanding graduates who will also address the crowd.听 Quinn will also recognize SWAG合集's Distinguished Instructor Awards.

The Beta Phi Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) from SWAG合集 at Fort Leavenworth will be holding a 鈥淔ood and Needs鈥 drive from May 11-21 in support of the Leavenworth Mission Community Store and Food Pantry.

SWAG合集 Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn has accepted a position as President at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill.

The public is invited to a come-and-go farewell reception from 3-5 p.m. Friday, May 8 in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building.

Dr. Quinn has served SWAG合集 as Vice President for six years.

SWAG合集 Medical Laboratory Technician student Amber Gabel of Hays was named Outstanding Student on April 28 by the Kansas Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (KSCLS) at the KSCLS and Clinical Laboratory Managers Association (CLMA) annual conference. Gabel also received a $250 scholarship from CLMA. Requirements focused on GPA, credit hours enrolled, communication, instructor recommendations and teamwork.听
