Select SWAG合集 career and technical education programs will be available at no cost to eligible students beginning in the fall of 2021, thanks to a new scholarship program designed to increase Kansans鈥 access to community colleges and technical schools.

The $10 million program was passed by the Kansas Legislature and signed by Governor Laura Kelly on Friday. When other scholarships and grants are not sufficient to cover a student鈥檚 tuition and fees, the Kansas Promise Act will make up the difference.

The SWAG合集 Music Department will host the Endowment Concert, a fundraiser for music student scholarships, at 7:30 p.m. May 3 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Attendees are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance. Visit shows.bartonccc.edu for tickets and live-stream information. All proceeds go to the Music Endowment Scholarship fund. Donations will also be accepted at the door.

SWAG合集鈥檚 chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society showed their appreciation for area healthcare workers and their courageous efforts during the pandemic by dropping off goodie baskets to several local healthcare facilities Monday.听

PTK Advisor Kathy Boeger said all healthcare workers should be praised and recognized for keeping our local communities safe and educated throughout the pandemic and for their agility as we continue to navigate the situation.听
