The proceeds of nearly 200 items sold, underwriters, program ads and ticket sales netted more than $45,000 at the 38th Annual Big Benefit Auction in late August. The funds benefit students directly through scholarships and program enhancements.
Executive Director of Institutional Advancement Coleen Cape said she was excited to have exceeded the auction goal by more than $5,000 and is grateful for the community’s generous nature.

SWAGºÏ¼¯ employees Mark Radenberg and Allan Collins, who work with inmates at Ellsworth Correctional Facility (ECF), were named the Outstanding Non-Uniform Employee and Outstanding Contract Employee of the Quarter, respectively, August 22 at an awards ceremony in the Statehouse, where they were greeted by Gov. Sam Brownback and other state officials.

The Shafer Art Gallery has chosen to highlight local talent in its next exhibit, the SWAGºÏ¼¯ County Arts Council Friends and Acquaintances Art Festival, in conjunction with the SWAGºÏ¼¯ County Arts Council.Ìý
An array of work from 3D to oil painting and water color will be on display beginning Friday through October 7 in the Shafer Art Gallery at SWAGºÏ¼¯. The show is underwritten by the Bill J McKown Memorial Endowment and the Golden Belt Community Foundation.
