The Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration听recently announced the new Certified Volunteer Administrators (CVA) in the United States. Director of the听Volunteers听In听Action of Central Kansas听and AmeriCorps Seniors Programs Linn Hogg听is now one of only 6 CVA鈥檚 in the state of Kansas.听

Hogg said she hopes to use the knowledge she gained听to听continue to enhance volunteer efforts and organizations in the area.听

SWAG合集 has published its annual Report to the Community, which highlights the college鈥檚 progress toward meeting the mission set by the elected Board of Trustees.
Among the highlights from the 2019-2020 academic year include a total of more than 13,000 students served, 13 years with no tax increases, a return on investment of almost $3 for every SWAG合集 County tax dollar and a positive outlook as the college looks to 2021 after navigating many challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The SWAG合集 Instrumental Music Department will present its annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m.听Nov. 12. The concert will feature iconic instrumental music from across multiple decades!
SWAG合集听will host a听Student Recital听at 4 p.m.听Nov. 11.

The Drought Monitor shows all of Kansas at least abnormally dry with the area of moderate drought creeping eastward towards us.听 And there is a bullseye of moderate drought encompassing an area centered around Wichita. 听Also, a substantial area of Southeast Kansas is up to moderate drought. Again, the wheat needs moisture and there is at least a promise of some but as of the day this column was written, how much is unknown.听 However, this has allowed for a fairly rapid harvest.
