SWAG合集鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon begin its nine-week GED Preparation Class. Students must attend all orientation classes May 21-24, and the first day of class May 29. Failure to attend all five days will result in removal of the student from the program. The center is located at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend.
There is a one-time $65 fee for materials.听Once students have completed the preparation courses, they will be able to take the official GED test. The cost to take the GED test is $132.

First, more beneficial rainfall this week to go along with last week.听 Did the Drought Monitor reflect much change (remember this is as of Tuesday morning)?听 Well, the area of exceptional drought retreated somewhat southwest as did the extreme and severe drought areas.听 Or in plain English, things are 鈥渓ess bad鈥 then they were allowing wheat to keep going and providing some optimism for corn/soybean producers.听 And there are rain chances for several days this week so keep your fingers crossed.

Carolina Temponi Goncalves of Brasilia, Brazil and Enrique Martinez Flores of San Salvador, El Salvador were named SWAG合集鈥檚 2018 Outstanding Graduates. Dean of Student Services Angie Maddy introduced them and presented their awards, after which they took the opportunity to address their fellow graduates during the college鈥檚 48th commencement ceremony Friday.

The Distinguished Service Award was created in 1981 by the SWAG合集 Foundation to recognize individuals who have shown genuine regard for, and have performed outstanding service to, SWAG合集. The SWAG合集 Foundation Board of Directors selects the recipient from nominations received.

SWAG合集 will be closed Monday, May 28听for Memorial Day.听
The college is on summer hours effective May 14. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. 鈥 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The college will be closed on Fridays through August 3.听
