Volunteers In Action (VIA) was recently named a Certified Service Enterprise by Points of Light. VIA is a grant-funded volunteer service organization that manages an AmeriCorps Senior (RSVP) program and is administered through SWAG合集. VIA鈥檚 mission is to fill the unmet needs in the community by mobilizing the time and talents of area volunteers.
SWAG合集 Performing Arts faculty members and students invite the community to celebrate the creative side of the Halloween season from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 30, in the Fine Arts Building.
A wide range of local artists鈥 work will be on display at the Shafer Gallery as part of the SWAG合集 County Arts Council Friends and Acquaintances exhibit Oct. 30 through Dec. 1. The show is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Memorial Endowment distributed by the Golden Belt Community Foundation.听
SWAG合集鈥檚 accelerated Carpentry Certificate Program is set to enroll students with classes starting in the spring. The program can be completed in one semester. It also features block-scheduling, which allows students to continue to work and make money while they go through the program.

As of October 12 our area is again essentially unchanged but it pays to remember that any rains Tuesday and onward aren鈥檛 in this report so hopefully conditions will improve a bit.听Wheat planted is coming up and looking good.听
SWAG合集 will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 in the Technical Building in room T-186, the Case New Holland Training area. Donors will receive t-shirts and $5 e-cards. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks will be required.
