SWAG�ϼ� Performing Arts faculty members and students invite the community to celebrate the creative side of the Halloween season with the “Return of Haunting on the Hill” event from 3-6 p.m. Oct. 29, in the Fine Arts Building.

I love the sense of community that we have here at the college. We all work together and support each other. I love how faculty and staff members are willing to go beyond normal expectations to help our students and guide them to a successful professional life.��

SWAG�ϼ�’s Center for Adult Education will soon begin another nine-week session of classes. However, orientation days are required before starting the classes. Students must attend all orientation days in-person, which will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Nov. 14-17.

The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, October 14, indicates almost all of our area still in extreme drought, including all of SWAG�ϼ� County.�� Exceptional drought is continuing to expand.��

Thirty-one-year-old Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility (LCMHF) resident Tyler Lyon has earned his high school diploma and other career-related certifications through SWAG�ϼ� and in the summer of 2025, after six years, he will rejoin society educated and ready to work.

SWAG�ϼ� will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 in the Kirkman Practice Gym. Donors will receive a $10 e-gift card to the merchant of their choice.

SWAG�ϼ� will help area high school seniors plan for their futures at Senior Day, starting at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 16, with a sign-up deadline of Nov. 1.

Students travel from all over the world to attend SWAG�ϼ�. On Tuesday, sixth graders from St. Joseph Catholic School in Ellinwood were able to talk with them about their journey to the United States and learn about a variety of cultures when they visited an English as a Second Language (ESOL) class last Tuesday on the SWAG�ϼ� campus.

Cinnamon rolls, cider, chili, wine, beer and multiple giveaways will be available at the family-friendly “After Hours” event from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 20 at Camp Aldrich, hosted by SWAG�ϼ� in conjunction with the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce.
