SWAG合集鈥檚 Child Development Center will offer their 鈥淪choolage鈥 program throughout the summer to provide a fun, safe environment so children can learn while being entertained.听 The program is designed for grades K-6 and will have 12 weeks of activities.听 Each week features a unique theme.
The itinerary is as follows:
May 26-29: Summer Kick-Off
June 1-5: Party in the USA; Participants will learn about a different state in the US each day.
June 8-12: Sports Superstars Week; Participants will learn about the rules of various sports.听 The week will end with a Father鈥檚 Day Celebration.
June 15-19: Mythbusters and Goosebumps; Participants will test various myths and see if they can be 鈥渂usted.鈥澨 The week will end with a field trip to Exploration Place to see 鈥淭he Science of Fear鈥 exhibit.
June 22-26: Animal Planet; Participants will learn about the animals at the Great Bend Zoo, enrichment activities for each animal and will tour the zoo.
June 29-July 2: A Bug鈥檚 Life; Participants will learn about the world of 鈥渃reepy crawlies.鈥 The week will end with a field trip to the Wetlands Education Center.
July 6-10:听 SWAG合集 CSI; Participants will learn about fingerprinting, solving mysteries and other Crime Scene Investigator experiments.
July 13-17: This is For the Birds; Participants will learn about bird species in SWAG合集 County and will participate in a 鈥渂ird count.鈥
July 20-24:听 Dog and Cat Daze of Summer; Participants will learn how to care for dogs, cats and various other pets.听 The week will end with a field trip to the Golden Belt Humane Society.
July 27-31: Game Show Mania; Participants will learn what it鈥檚 like to be on a game show and will help to create one with the group and will play games like 鈥淔amily Feud鈥 and 鈥淒ouble Dare.鈥
August 2-7:听 Summer Olympics: Participants will have a week-long, fun competition of games from the summer Olympics and other games that will be made up.
August 10-14: Make a Difference Week; Participants will learn about ways that they can help protect endangered species and help others in the community.听 This session will include a tour of the SWAG合集 County Food Bank and participants will help out there during the week.听
