SWAG合集 Dance to host Spring Festival

SWAG合集 Dance Theatre celebrates the holidays by dancing during SWAG合集鈥檚 Holiday Harmony Concert this past December.

SWAG合集鈥檚 Dance Department will host 鈥淐elebration Dance, Spring Dance Festival鈥 at 7 p.m. April 27 and 28 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Children ages four and younger and SWAG合集 students get in free. For additional ticket information, visit .

SWAG合集 Dance Department Coordinator Danika Bielek said the concert is designed to highlight dance talent in the community by dancing about the many ways we celebrate life. Each night will offer a unique experience, featuring different guest artists, SWAG合集鈥檚 dance classes and SWAG合集 student choreography.

鈥淭he show will honor the many positive things in our lives like hope, perseverance, creativity, beloved holidays and unity,鈥 she said. 鈥淭here will be plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in the jubilee! The festival will also feature dance groups from the region including the Azteca Folklorico Dancers, SWAG合集 Dance Theatre, Danceography and Euphoria Dance Centre.

Guest dancers featured on April 27 include the Azteca Folklorico Dancers and Euphoria Dance Centre. Dancers from Danceography studio will perform April 28. They will share the stage with SWAG合集鈥檚 dance technique classes and the college鈥檚 dance company, SWAG合集 Dance Theatre.

Bielek said positivity and collaboration are the key elements to this performance.

鈥淭hroughout the history of humanity dance has been part of many celebrations,鈥 she said. 鈥淲hen we are feeling good, we have this natural instinct to get up to move and dance! This year our dance department wanted to give back to the community with an uplifting message remembering all the good in our lives. We are excited to share the stage with our talented dance partners in the region too. It鈥檚 going to be a blast!鈥
