STEP 2:听Create a FSA ID at听. The FSA ID can be used for many actions听including, but not limited to:
- E-signing the FAFSA
- Completing Loan Requirements such as Loan Entrance/Exit Counseling and Master Promissory Notes.
STEP 3:听Complete听the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the web at听.

- An application filed electronically will take approximately two weeks to be processed. The Federal Processor will send the information to the Financial Aid Office electronically in the form of an ISIR. After your FAFSA is processed by the Federal Processor, you may access your via your account on .听 This summary provides information such as your Student Aid Index (SAI), your verification status, and an estimate of听Federal Student Aid in which you could be eligible for.听 Please note, this amount can change and the final offer will be sent to you by our office.
- Applications for federal aid cannot be made until after December 1st prior to the award year and cannot be made any later than June 30th of the award year. (Example: For the 2024-25听school year, you听may apply from December 1, 2023听until June 30, 2025.)

STEP 4:听You must submit all requested documents to the Financial Aid Office. Once our office has received your application, you can view your financial aid status in the听. If your FAFSA is selected for Verification the Financial Aid Office will contact you requesting additional documentation. Any or all of the following documents may be requested:
- Independent or Dependent Verification Worksheet
- Tax Return Transcript(s) / Signed 1040(s) for tax year used on the FAFSA
- W-2 Forms (your and/or parent's, spouse)
- Copy of your Social Security card
- Documentation verifying your independent status
- Cured Default documentation
- Bankruptcy Documentation
- Copy of your birth certificate
- INS documentation
- Proof of U.S. citizenship
- Professional judgment application
- Any other document deemed necessary by the FAO
Priority deadlines for all requested documents to reach the Financial Aid Office are July 1st听for the听Fall semester, November听1st听for the Spring semester and听April 1st听for the summer session. The Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee a file will be processed and disbursed after priority deadlines are passed.
STEP 5:听The Financial Aid Office will package your SWAG合集 offer and notify you via the your school-assigned email that the offer can be viewed by accessing the听.
Pell grants are packaged based on full-time enrollment. The actual Pell grant听disbursed is based on the your actual enrollment and attendance. See 听for further information.
There are additional steps that need to be done if you would like to accept a federal student loan and to have it certified. See .
STEP 6:听After your aid has been disbursed to your account, a refund听will be issued via paper check unless you sign up for direct deposit听via the Student Financial Center within the听MySWAG合集 Portal. You will not receive a refund if there is an unpaid balance on your account.听听
